Team Cecchini is a research and development group, managed directly by its owner and founder Mr. Giovanni Cecchini.
Born in Verona, he has been fully involved in sports for years, focusing on the constant search for innovation and for new means that can be used and applied in sports.
Performance of the highest quality, for professional and non-professional sports, and remarkable performance improvements are the company’s goals.
The Team initially focused its efforts on Winter Sports.
First significant medals came in 1998 during the Winter Olympics in Nagano: a gold medal in two-man bobsleigh and a silver medal in men’s single luge. A special preparation of “bobsleigh” and “skates” that made the materials smoother along with a friction reduction led the Italian Team to excel worldwide after many years.
The Team has soon realized that friction plays a key role in the attempt to optimize and maximize the speed. Especially if intended for sports where athletes often win by few hundredths and thousandths of a second.
Therefore top-level friction reduction exerted by mechanical parts in contact with each other as well as by air or water breaking on surfaces such as car bodies, mechanical means and athletes’ bodies.
Applications and testing in other sports then followed: in water sports and competitions such as canoe and America’s Cup; in winter sports such as skiing and luge on natural track, in land sports such as cycling, trotting and in several disciplines of Paralympic Games; in motor sports such as car racing and MotoGP (World Championship).
The same principles of friction reduction have been applied where bodies were exposed to air resistance and mechanical parts were in contact with each other. Ball bearings, bottom brackets and wheel hubs have therefore become, over time, the true keystone in which the Team invests more energy and research in order to maximize the benefits.
The highest resistance forces in fact develop in these parts and in their relating movements. This is also where the margins of intervention to make every movement as smooth as possible are larger.
The most impressive results have recently come with professional cycling where the margins of improvement have been able to guarantee a series of Olympic successes, and great stage races that have definitely left their mark in a few years.
From the redesign of the parts themselves to the following tests, from the assembly of components coming from different materials to the artisan process of every single piece with bevels and polishing ad hoc, from the application of derived products to the use of several ointments in micro quantities…
The Team has one single goal in mind:
THE ABSOLUTE EXCELLENCE
